Installed on my 1990 Ford Class C motorhome with an 460 EFI gas and E40D transmission. Transmission was just serviced, no with temp or pressure issues found during testing. I want to keep it working great. as heat has a great impact on shortening the life on the E40D transmission. I have this plate and fin cooler installed in series with the factory stacked plate cooler and internal radiator transmission cooler or heater depending on one's view point. The the Ford EEC-IV processor and closed loop software's happy place is 196 to 210 degrees F for optimum fuel and emissions performance. Pressure testing only found a drop of less than 2 PSI, barely noticeable. Pressure test taken at the transmission test port. After installing this cooler kit, I went on a 100 mile test drive on the interstate in 100 degree plus weather. This cooler worked great. The transmission temperature was around 140 degree F when traveling at all speeds up to 65 mph. Only time it got up to 180 degrees F was when parking, backing in, in a very hot asphalt parking lot. Do check the fluid level after installing, had to add about a pint due to losing a very small amount of transmission fluid during the install and fluid required to fill this cooler. Kept all the bends in the hose and lines outside a three inch radius and as short as possible. The hose that comes with the cooler kit is only four foot long so additional hose line may need to be purchased. I double hose clamped at all the barbed fittings. I did not use the mounting hardware, fabricated my own brackets to insure the cooler had at least 3/4 clearance from everything else. Transmission temperatures taken from a sensor installed at the test port on a Ford E40D transmission as recommended by the official Ford Truck Shop repair manual.
